SCCOL (S-COM Command-Oriented Language) 1.0

© SCP Technologies Ltd 1999-2004, SCP Foundation 1982-2004

First used in S-COM SOFTWARE versions as far as 0.1, being the base of every process and task, SCCOL now serves as a way to automate tasks and make an office worker's job easier and faster.

SCCOL stands for S-COM Command-Oriented Language, which describes its core function - being executed via calling specific commands. While the language may seem pretty basic, it is capable of completing a lot of tasks and a lot can be done with it.

This documentation serves as a guide to SCCOL 1.0 for beginners, and as a reference for experienced users.

Requirements:
Overview

SCCOL was first introduced in the first public version of S-COM SOFTWARE - 0.1 in 1982. It served as a small set of commands to operate the S-COM, by then, only a communication program. Then, in version 0.6 (1988) S-COM switched to being and OS overlay to make on-site communications and file operations more easy and secure. By then, SCCOL was already a full set of commands, which could be used to operate an OS.

SCCOL began expanding in version 0.7 (1993) and started including the ability to run batch algorithm files with multiple commands listed inside. As the programming industry grew and evolved, so did the Foundation and its needs to be able to keep users up-to-date with more software than the S-COM provided. This is when SCCOL finally began forming as a full and complete programming language. It started including many mandatory features, such as procedures, mathematical commands and functions and etc.

Now SCCOL serves as a full programming language, made easier to use for an average Foundation worker. Here you will find command, variable and operator references as well as syntax information and examples to help you understand how to work in SCCOL.

Note

If you are new to SCCOL, you should read about the basics of the language, such as the way it works, the syntax and etc. You should also check some examples to understand how SCCOL works in action.
